Diabetes ‘apocalypse’ looms in China, experts warn
There’s a nasty medical downside to China’s booming economy: The number of Chinese with diabetes is surging, setting the stage for an “apocalypse” that could cripple the country’s health system if left unchecked, health officials warn.
 

It is estimated that one in three diabetics now lives in China. As China has got richer, disposable incomes have risen and lifestyles have changed.
